As per reports, an explosion occurred in Chong An Ma, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, following a grass fire near the Thai–Cambodian border on Friday (30 January). The incident occurred at approximately 1300 hours (local time) at the Chong An Ma battle line near Bon Kai.
• According to initial information, a fire broke out on a cliff face and spread toward an area believed to contain remnants of unexploded ordnance from previous conflicts.
• The fire reached outside a barbed-wire fence where unexploded munitions were present, triggering a sudden detonation. Shrapnel from the explosion injured two Thai soldiers.
• The injured personnel received immediate first aid at the scene and were subsequently transferred to a hospital for further treatment. The type and size of the explosive device involved remain under investigation.
