As per reports, authorities announced special public transportation and security arrangements for the Virada Cultural 2026 festival in São Paulo between Saturday (23 May) and Sunday (24 May). Authorities stated that São Paulo Metro and Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) services will operate continuously for 24 hours during the event period.

• Reports indicate that Metro Lines One-Blue, Two-Green, Three-Red, and 15-Silver will remain operational for passenger boarding and disembarkation, while all CPTM lines are scheduled to operate overnight. Authorities stated that between 0000 hours local time (0300 hours UTC) and 0400 hours local time (0700 hours UTC), several CPTM stations may permit only passenger disembarkation and transfers.
• Reports suggest that increased crowd movement and security deployment are expected near Sé, São Bento, Anhangabaú, República, and adjoining areas in central São Paulo. Authorities reportedly deployed approximately 4,200 police personnel and additional surveillance measures across transport hubs, event venues, and public gathering areas.
