As per reports, three of Vietnam’s major airports—Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) in Hanoi, and Da Nang International Airport (DAD)—have implemented level one enhanced aviation security control measures from Monday (20 October) to Tuesday (28 October).

• This temporary increase in security is aimed at ensuring absolute safety during the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Saturday and Sunday (25-26 October).
• The Ministry of Public Security’s Immigration Department has directed the enhanced measures and ordered airports and aviation facilities nationwide to reinforce security protocols during this period.
• Aviation security commanders have been instructed to maintain continuous monitoring of passenger flow, information systems, and restricted areas to ensure swift handling of any unusual situations.
• In addition, all airports and aviation service facilities across Vietnam have been directed to reinforce cyber and information security for aviation technology systems. Measures include strengthening network protection, increasing surveillance camera use, and conducting regular checks of restrooms, trash bins, and concealed areas to identify suspicious activity.
• The Immigration Department has requested the Border Police at Tan Son Nhat, Noi Bai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, and Phu Quoc airports, along with provincial and municipal police units, to communicate these directives to aviation service providers and foreign airlines for uniform implementation of the enhanced measures.
