As per Kashmir Police, an encounter is underway between militants and security forces in the Rafiabad area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday (19 June). The gunfight started after a joint team of Police, Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon and search operation in Lyser, Hadipora.

The searches were initiated following a specific input about the presence of militants in the area.
