As per reports, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) confirmed on Tuesday (21 July) that a UK resident humanitarian worker is being monitored by medical specialists in London after a suspected exposure to Ebola while working in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The individual was evacuated to the UK on a chartered flight as a precautionary measure and transferred to a London hospital for assessment.
The individual is currently not displaying symptoms and remains in stable condition. Authorities stated that the risk to the general public remains low. The person is expected to remain under monitoring and isolation during the Ebola incubation period, which can last up to 21 days.
