The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a 4.5 magnitude earthquake, approximately 78 kilometres southwest of Pariaman, West Sumatra, on Monday (02 February), at 0520 hours (local time).

The earthquake was reported at a depth of 23 kilometres with no major seismic intensity observed in the areas around the epicentre.
