The Delhi Traffic Police (DTP) has stated that high vehicular movement and increased public footfall are expected in and around Qutub Minar and DDA Mehrauli Archaeological Park on Sunday (12 April) from 1600 hours to 2100 hours (local time).

• In view of the anticipated congestion, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented on key roads including Anuvrat Marg, Crescent Road, and adjoining stretches to ensure smoother traffic management. The restrictions will remain in place tentatively between 1600 hours and 2100 hours (local time), or longer depending on ground requirements.
• As part of the traffic measures, heavy and commercial vehicles will not be allowed to move from Anuvrat Marg towards Qutub Minar via Phool Mandi. Similar restrictions will be in effect on Crescent Road towards Qutub Minar via Masjid Haji Ali Jan, as well as on Kalka Dass Marg towards Qutub Minar.
• Authorities have also prohibited the halting or parking of heavy and commercial vehicles on Anuvrat Marg, Crescent Road, Kalka Dass Marg, and nearby roads. Vehicles found parked improperly will be towed and may face legal action.
• Despite the restrictions, Aurobindo Marg, Anuvrat Marg, Crescent Road, and Kalka Dass Marg will remain open for general traffic movement. However, access to Qutub Minar will be permitted only through Kalka Dass Marg. Designated parking arrangements have been made, and vehicles may be parked at authorized parking locations on Kalka Dass Marg in Mehrauli.
• Emergency services, including ambulances, fire brigade, police, and other emergency vehicles, will be allowed unrestricted movement during this period.
• Authorities have also advised the public to avoid affected routes during peak hours, use public transport options such as metro services, and report any suspicious objects or activities to the police. Commuters travelling towards key transit hubs such as Indira Gandhi Airport, New Delhi Railway Station, and ISBT have been advised to plan their journeys in advance.
