As per reports, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Monday (18 November) that 15 counties, including New York City, have been placed under drought warning status due to insufficient rainfall and declining water supply levels.
• The counties placed under drought warning status include Bronx, Delaware, Dutchess, Greene, Kings, New York, Orange, Putnam, Queens, Richmond, Rockland, Schoharie, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester.
• According to the Drought Monitor, much of the Tri-State area, including New York City, is experiencing severe drought conditions, with extreme drought reported in Ocean County and parts of South Jersey.
