As per reports, on Tuesday (07 October), young medical professionals from the ‘Future in Bulgaria’ initiative have organized a protest in front of the Ministry of Health in Sofia.
• The demonstration is scheduled to begin at 1730 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) and is expected to continue as a march along Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, concluding at Orlov Most Square.
• The protesters are expressing dissatisfaction with perceived institutional inaction, citing half a year of unfulfilled promises and lack of tangible improvements in the healthcare sector.
• Their demands reportedly include payment of 150 percent of the national average salary for medical staff, the establishment of a transparent and fair system for postgraduate enrollment, recognition and support for European diplomas, and improved conditions for professional development in Bulgaria to curb the outflow of medical personnel abroad.
