As per reports, the Hungarian Weather Service, has issued an urgent weather warning effective until midnight on Saturday (13 July)

• A 24-hour average temperature of around or above 29 degrees Celsius is expected across most of the country, prompting a red heat alert for fifteen counties.
• Thunderstorms are anticipated to begin early on Friday (12 July) evening, particularly affecting the western and northwestern regions, and may extend to the northern parts of the country. The thunderstorm activity is expected to decrease on Friday (12 July) night but will likely increase again on Saturday (13 July) afternoon in the Tiszántúl region, continuing into the evening from the west. Intense thunderstorms may bring heavy rainfall, hail, and strong winds, with some areas experiencing violent storms with wind gusts exceeding 90 kilometres per hour and larger hailstones.
• The highest-level red heat alert is issued for fifteen counties: Baranya, Bacs-Kiskun, Bekes, Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen, Csongrad-Csanad, Fejer, Hajdu-Bihar, Heves, Jasz-Nagykun-Szolnok, Komarom-Esztergom, Pest, Somogy, Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg, Tolna, and Veszprem.
• A second-degree heat alert has been issued for four counties, Gyor-Moson-Sopron, Nograd, Vas, and Zala where median temperatures are forecast to stay above 27 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures could reach up to 41 degrees Celsius over the weekend.
• HungaroMet forecasts temperatures up to 41 degrees Celsius over the weekend, with sunshine and scattered rainfall and thunderstorms.
