As per reports, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled a demonstration, titled ‘Democracy Under Attack’, in Accra on Thursday (06 August), expected to commence at 0600 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) from the Supreme Court to the Jubilee House, while urging supporters to participate in demonstrations nationwide.

• The organisers stated that the demonstration aims to raise concerns regarding alleged restrictions on freedom of expression, the treatment of opposition voices, and perceived threats to democratic institutions, with supporters being mobilised nationwide, indicating the potential for demonstrations across multiple locations.
• The demonstration is expected to draw a significant turnout, with security measures and increased police presence anticipated along the protest route and at key gathering points.
