The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Himachal Pradesh on Saturday (22 August).
• Warning: A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi.
• Nowcast: Information has not been updated since 1800 hours (local time) on Friday (21 August).
• Transport disruptions: According to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), 128 roads were closed to vehicular traffic across the state as of Friday morning (21 August). Mandi reported the highest number of road closures at 52, followed by Kullu with 43, Chamba with nine, Kangra and Sirmaur with six each, Shimla and Una with five each, and Lahaul-Spiti with two.
