As per reports, a cruise boat operated by Madhya Pradesh tourism reportedly sank in the Narmada River near Khamariya Island in Jabalpur on Thursday (30 April) due to a sudden storm. The boat was carrying around 29 passengers.

Five fatalities have been confirmed by the authorities. Around eight to ten passengers are still missing in the dam waters, with police and State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) personnel engaged in an intensive search and rescue operation. Further details awaited.
