As per reports, the Indian National Congress (INC) announced the launch of its nationwide ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ (Voice of Students) campaign through a series of press conferences held across India on Thursday (25 June).
The campaign is reportedly aimed at highlighting concerns related to examination integrity, paper leak incidents, issues affecting students, and reforms in the examination system. The following are the latest details available:
• The campaign will begin from Tuesday (30 June) for a period of 40 days till Sunday (09 August).
• On Tuesday (30 June), the Congress Party leaders will conduct awareness drives and will distribute pamphlets at several academic instituions across India.
• On Saturday (01 August), demonstrations have been scheduled outside the District Collector’s Office in 28 cities across India including in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi, and Bhubaneshwar. However, the exact list of cities and protest site is yet to be announced.
• On Sunday (09 August), the Congress Party has called for a ‘Delhi Chalo’ (Mobilisation to Delhi) rally.
• The protest has been scheduled to demand reforms in the system and procedure of competitive exams in India along with the resignation of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
