According to reports, Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary K Ramakrishna has called for large participation in a three-day padayatra (foot march) from Anantapur to Bandlapalli in Andhra Pradesh from Friday to Sunday (10-12 April).
• The march, being organised by CPI and the Andhra Pradesh Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham (APVKS), aims to protest against the Centre’s policies. He appealed to political parties and people’s organisations to extend solidarity.
• CPI national general secretary D Raja, along with party leader Ani Raja, leaders of the All-India Agricultural Workers’ Union and other labour organisations, are to participate in the event.
