Cold weather and winter storm warnings in place for Eastern Idaho until Sunday (02 February)

The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning in place until 0500 hours of Sunday (02 February) for Inkom, Soda Springs, St. Charles, Downey, Bone, Wayan, Georgetown, Kilgore, Montpelier, Lava Hot Springs, Henry, Emigration Summit, McCammon, Victor, Swan Valley, Island Park, Grace and the Teton Valley areas of Eastern Idaho.

• Moderate to heavy snow is expected with 5 to 10 inches expected in lower elevations and 10 to 20 inches for higher elevations. Wind gusts could be as high as 40 mph.
• A winter weather advisory is in effect for other parts of eastern Idaho, including Idaho Falls, Richfield, Pocatello, St. Anthony, Carey, Fort Hall, Shoshone, Rexburg, American Falls, Shelley, INL, Blackfoot, Craters of the Moon and Mud Lake.
• Snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches are expected with Craters of the Moon National Monument possibly receiving 3 to 6 inches. Wind gusts could reach 45 mph.
