As per reports, a cold wave is anticipated to impact Brazil, starting from Tuesday (27 May). The cold front, originating from polar regions, is expected to bring a substantial drop in temperatures across the country.
• The southern regions, particularly Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, are likely to experience temperatures as low as minus three degrees Celsius to minus five degrees Celsius.
• There is a potential for widespread frost and even snowfall in elevated areas of the southern states, including Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul.
• The cold wave is expected to extend to parts of the Southeast and Center-West regions, with temperatures dropping below 10 degrees Celsius in several cities. Regions such as Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo might be impacted.
• A possible cyclone near the coast of Rio Grande do Sul on Thursday (29 May) may exacerbate the situation with strong winds and coastal disturbances.
