The China Meteorological Administration has issued a Blue Sandstorm Warning for parts of China on Friday (09 January), with blowing sand, dust, and localized sandstorm activity expected across northern and northwestern regions.

• Blowing sand or dust is forecast to affect western Inner Mongolia, western Gansu, central and northern Ningxia, central and northern Shaanxi, Shanxi, central and southern Hebei, and Beijing.
• More severe sandstorm activity is expected in parts of western Inner Mongolia and western Gansu, where reduced visibility and stronger wind-driven dust movement may occur.
