The China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has issued a blue alert for severe convective weather across parts of China on Tuesday (16 June).

• Thunderstorms with winds of level eight or above, or hail, are expected in parts of northern North China, western Northeast China and South China.
• Some areas in northern Hebei are expected to experience thunderstorms with winds of level ten or above.
• Short-duration heavy rainfall is expected in parts of central and northern North China, central and western Northeast China and South China, with hourly rainfall exceeding 20 mm.
• In some areas of southern Guangxi and central and southern Guangdong, hourly rainfall is expected to exceed 50 mm, with maximum hourly rainfall reaching more than 90 mm.
