As per the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), a blue alert has been issued for severe convective weather across parts of China on Friday (19 June).
• Parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Liaoning Province, Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province, Shanxi Province, Hebei Province, Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are expected to experience thunderstorms with winds of level 8 or above or hail.
• Among these areas, parts of southeastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northern Shanxi Province, central and northern Hebei Province, central and southern Anhui Province, central and southern Jiangsu Province and northeastern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are expected to experience thunderstorms with winds of level 10 or above, with maximum wind speeds reaching level 11 or above.
• Parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Liaoning Province, Jilin Province, Heilongjiang Province, Shanxi Province, Hebei Province, Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Hubei Province and Guizhou Province are expected to experience short-duration heavy rainfall, with hourly precipitation exceeding 20 millimetres.
• Among these areas, parts of central and southern Anhui Province, southern Jiangsu Province, eastern Hubei Province, southeastern Guizhou Province and northeastern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region are expected to experience hourly rainfall exceeding 50 millimetres, with maximum hourly rainfall reaching more than 90 millimetres.
