As per reports, the Vienna River cycle path in the west of Vienna has been announced to remain closed for an additional two to three weeks due to ongoing clean-up and repair work following severe flood damage as of Thursday (10 October).
• The municipal department for Vienna Waters (MA 45), responsible for the river, confirmed that final repair work will begin next week, with completion expected in mid-to-late October.
• The cycle path suffered significant damage during a 1,000-year flood in mid-September, including torn railings, bent signs, and displaced stones. The city’s mobility agency recommended Auhofstrasse in Vienna-Hietzing as an alternative route for cyclists.
