As per reports, a high-tension derby match between Genoa and Sampdoria football fans escalated into urban clashes around the Luigi Ferraris Stadium and nearby streets in Genoa on Tuesday (24 September).

• Police had to intervene using tear gas and other riot control measures to separate the opposing fan groups, who vandalized property and clashed with law enforcement.
• Several arrests were made, and there were concerns about the escalation of violence in and around the stadium.
