As per reports, the Kilambakkam bus terminus will be inaugurated by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday (30 December) at an event at the terminus in Chennai at 1100 hours. Given the event, bus operations are set to be shifted from the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) to Kilambakkam for the southbound buses.

The operations of State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) and privately owned omnibuses from Kilambakkam will begin with immediate effect, while the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and Puducherry Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) buses will subsequently follow and will be informed later.
