As per reports on Friday (05 September), a passenger bus in a mountainous region of Sri Lanka veered off the road and fell into a precipice, resulting in 15 fatalities and injuries to 16 others.

The accident took place near the town of Wellawaya, approximately 280 kilometers (174 miles) east of Colombo, on the night of Thursday (04 September), when the bus plunged into a precipice of about 1,000 feet.
