Buddha Air plane skids off runway during landing in Bhadrapur on Friday (02 January)

As per reports, a Buddha Air aircraft skidded off the runway while landing at Bhadrapur Airport during evening hours on Friday (02 January). The flight reportedly took off at 2023 hours (local time) from Kathmandu, and overran the runway at around 2108 hours (local time) before coming to a stop in a grassy area adjacent to the airstrip.

• Following this, Buddha Air initiated arrangements to dispatch a technical and relief team from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, which will include a detailed inspection of the aircraft, assessing runway conditions, and coordinating with airport authorities to support recovery operations.
• In addition, the airline stated that all 51 passengers and four crew members on board flight 901 are safe, while affected passengers were provided necessary assistance at the airport, including guidance on onward travel and rebooking options where required.
• Meanwhile, flight operations at Bhadrapur reportedly experienced temporary disruptions, as some flights were delayed due to safety checks and runway assessments being carried out.
