As per reports, Brussels Airlines has announced that it will cancel the majority of its scheduled flights on 12 March due to a national union protest planned in Brussels.

• Belgian unions have called for a nationwide demonstration opposing government measures, and a large number of airport employees are expected to participate in the industrial action.
• As a result, all departing passenger flights at Brussels Airport (BRU), Brussels are expected to be cancelled on the day of the protest. Brussels Airlines, which operates the largest share of flights from Brussels Airport (BRU) and uses Zaventem as its main base, will be significantly affected by the disruption.
• Aircraft unable to depart from Brussels Airport (BRU) will also be unable to operate their return sectors, which may lead to wider disruptions affecting inbound flights and international routes connected to Brussels. The airline therefore expects to cancel the vast majority of its scheduled operations for that day.
• Brussels Airlines has begun contacting affected passengers and is offering free rebooking or ticket cancellation options regardless of the original ticket conditions.
