The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued severe heatwave warnings for parts of Australia until Tuesday (16 December). The following are the additional details:
• Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach between 39 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius with elevated overnight minimums in the 25 degree Celsius, limiting overnight cooling and increasing cumulative heat stress.
• The affected areas include Alice Srings, Santa Teresa, Titjikala, Bulman, Arnhem, Simpson, Perth Metropolitan area, Gingin, Hopetoun, Katanning, Lake Grace, Mount Barker, Narrogin, Ravensthorpe, Yanchep and Peninsula area near Queensland.
