The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued warnings for high tidal waves in several maritime areas South of Java from Monday to Thursday (14-17 July). The waves or sea swells could reach heights of 2.5 to 4.0 meters.
The high tide is likely to arise in the waters around the Nias Islands and Mentawai Islands, the Central part of the Java Sea, the Eastern part of the Java Sea, the Bali Sea, and the Makassar Strait, the Northern part of the Malacca Strait and the Indian Ocean from the West of Aceh. Accordingly, high tidal waves are expected on the coasts of Bengkulu, Lampung, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.
