The Indonesia Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) has issued a weather warning for moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and strong winds, for parts of Central Papua region, valid from 2010 hours to 2300 hours (local time) on Monday (09 March).

• Locations likely to be impacted by moderate to heavy rainfall include Far West Mimika, Kwamki Narama, Amar, Central West Mimika, Kuala Kencana, Iwaka, New Mimika in Mimika Regency; Bowobado in Deiyai ​​Regency.
• The warning may extend to the areas of Kapiraya in Deiyai ​​Regency; West Mimika, Tembagapura, Central Mimika in Mimika Regency.
