The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning for moderate to heavy rainfall, which may be accompanied by lightning and strong winds, across parts of North Maluku and North Kalimantan on Thursday (11 December).

• Affected areas in North Maluku include the Sula Islands Regency, specifically East Mangoli, North East Mangoli, Central Mangoli, South Mangoli and North Mangoli.
• In North Kalimantan, affected areas include North Tanjung Palas, Central Tanjung Palas and Sekatak in Bulungan Regency, Mentarang in Malinau Regency, and East Tarakan in Tarakan City.
