As per reports, Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President N. Ramchander Rao has been placed under house arrest by police in Hyderabad on Saturday (18 April) after the BJP called for a protest outside the residence of Telangana Chief Minister (CM) Revanth Reddy over the Congress party’s stand on the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament.
This comes amid a nationwide protest announcement by the BJP against opposition parties over the Women’s Reservation Bill. Prior to the scheduled protest on Saturday (18 April), Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM, youth wing of the BJP) staged a protest on Friday (17 April) evening, burning an effigy of opposition leaders.
