Asper reports, the POGO Women’s movement and the “United Cyprus” bicommunal initiative have scheduled parallel mobilizations in Nicosia for 1830 hours local time (1530 hours UTC) on Tuesday (28 July).
• The demonstrations are timed to coincide with the visit of the United Nations Secretary-General to Cyprus, with participants demanding a reunified Cyprus and a federal solution.
• The protesters are expected to gather at the south gate of the UN Representative Office, located opposite the University of Nicosia near the Agios Dometios checkpoint.
• Concurrently, Turkish Cypriot compatriots are expected to hold a parallel demonstration in the north at the Kermia (Metehan) roundabout.
