As per reports, the Federal Health Minister of Australia has stated that there are no immediate plans to tighten border controls despite the detection of Nipah virus cases in India;

• Health Minister Mark Butler confirmed that there will be no immediate changes to the existing protocols for sick travelers arriving in Australia, noting that current measures are already in place.
• He emphasized that authorities will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust protocols if necessary.
• The Australian Centre for Disease Control (ACDC) has advised travelers heading to areas affected by the Nipah virus to take precautions to protect themselves.
• Recommended measures include practicing good hygiene, avoiding direct contact with animals, particularly monkeys and bats, and following local health guidance to reduce the risk of infection.
