The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has raised the alert level for Kanlaon volcano to two on Monday (27 October) after it emitted ash.
As per the alert, entry into the four km radius of Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) and flying any aircraft close to the volcano is not allowed. Possible hazards that can occr include sudden steam driven or phreatic eruptions and percursory magmatic activity.
