According to reports, police and Special Operations Group (SOG) on Monday night (11 November) arrested 15 people from a lodge in Garchuk for their alleged involvement in various financial frauds such as cybercrime, online betting scams and incidents of ATM card swapping.

The modus operandi was to dupe elderly and technologically unaware people on the pretext of offering them assistance at ATM booths. The fraudsters would then distract the people and swap their ATM cards. Sometimes they would capture card details of the victims using advanced machines and later clone the cards to withdraw money.
