As per reports, the interim government of Bangladesh launched ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ across Bangladesh on Saturday (08 February) and Sunday (09 February) with the aim of curbing unrest and ensuring public safety. The operation led to the arrest of at least 1308 individuals, with 274 by the metropolitan police and the remaining by other security personnel.
The operation began following an attack on students and the public in Gazipur on Friday (07 February), allegedly by leaders and workers of the Awami League (AL).
