As per reports, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), Argentina’s largest trade union, announced its third general strike against the economic and social policies of President Javier Milei on 10 April.
• The strike will take place on 10 April, following a series of actions, including a mobilisation for Remembrance Day on 24 March and a march on 09 April for retirees.
• The trade union center stated that these protests would include 36 hours of action, starting on 24 March and culminating with the strike on 10 April.
• The CGT leaders’ decision comes after months of relative truce and peaceful coexistence with the Milei government.
• The union also announced plans for further protests, including a 01 May mobilisation for Labor Day to oppose Milei’s policies.
• Public and private transport unions, including bus and railway unions, have committed to participating in the strike, which will disrupt train services across the country.
