As per reports, the Civil Defense of Santa Catarina issued an alert for Florianópolis due to the forecast of heavy and continuous rainfall until Saturday (25 January). The risk includes flooding, flash floods and landslides, especially in hillside regions and areas with already saturated soil.

According to the city government of the capital of Santa Catarina, a task force has been set up to respond to emergencies. Equipment such as hydro jets, trucks and excavators will be available to deal with possible flooding and other risk situations.
