As per reports, a schedule reduction has been announced by Air Transat on Wednesday (22 April) affecting its summer and early autumn operations, with approximately six per cent of flights being cut between May and October.

• The decision follows a sustained increase in global jet fuel prices linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, which has disrupted energy markets and created supply instability across the aviation sector.
• The airline confirmed that 129 flights scheduled between 20 June and 25 October are being cancelled, primarily impacting routes to Europe and the Caribbean. A significant portion of the reduction is tied to the continued suspension of flights to Cuba, where a domestic fuel crisis has constrained aviation operations. This suspension has now been extended through October.
• Air Transat stated that affected passengers are being offered alternative travel arrangements. The airline described the situation as beyond operational control, citing ongoing fuel price volatility and constrained supply chains. Leadership indicated that further adjustments may be implemented depending on how global conditions evolve, despite continued strong travel demand.
