As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued an air stagnation advisory for multiple areas in Oregon on Sunday (28 December). The advisory was released at approximately 1230 hours (local time) and is valid from 1600 hours (local time) on Sunday (28 December) until 1600 hours (local time) on Wednesday (31 December).
The advisory applies to Central Douglas County, Eastern Curry County, Josephine County, Eastern Douglas County Foothills, the Klamath Basin, Northern and Eastern Klamath County, Western Lake County, Central and Eastern Lake County, and Jackson County.
• As per the NWS, poor air quality is expected to develop during the evening hours and persist through Wednesday (31 December) due to a temperature inversion and stagnant air conditions near the surface, which are expected to trap pollutants.
• Authorities warned that degraded air quality may pose risks to individuals with respiratory conditions.
