Air quality alert issued for parts of New York on Monday (14 July)

As per reports, wildfire smoke from Canadian wildfires has impacted western New York as of Monday (14 July), resulting in widespread haze and reduced air quality. Some of the smoke has reached ground level, leading to an air quality alert for the region. The alert is in effect for St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties.

These conditions are expected to continue into Tuesday (15 July), with surface smoke persisting and visibility remaining reduced.
