AFSPA to be extended in Nagaland for six months from 01 October 2025

As per reports, the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) has been extended for six months from 01 October 2025 until 01 April 2026 in parts of Nagaland.

The directive will come into effect from 01 October 2025. Accordingly, AFSPA will remain in effect in Nagaland till 01 April 2026, unless withdrawn earlier. Official order is awaited. The affected areas include:

• Dimapur, Niuland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek, Peren, and Meluri.
• Areas falling under Khuzama, Kohima North, Kohima South, Zubza, and Kezocha police stations in Kohima district.
• Mangkolemba, Mokokchung, Longtho, Tuli, Longchem and Anaki police stations in Mokokchung district.
• Yanglok police station in Longleng district.
• Bhandari, Champang and Ralan police stations in Wokha district.
• Ghatashi, Pughoboto, Satakha, Suruhuto, Zunheboto, and Aghunato police stations in Zunheboto district.
