AFSPA extended to Meluri district in Nagaland on Tuesday (01 April)

As per reports, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) further imposed the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) for six months in Meluri district, Nagaland, on Tuesday (01 April), just two days after the law was extended to eight districts and 21 police station areas in five other districts of the state on Sunday (30 March).

• In Nagaland, AFSPA has been extended to Dimapur, Niuland, Chümoukedima, Mon, Kiphire, Noklak, Phek, and Peren districts of Nagaland and 21 police stations areas in Kohima, Mokukchung, Longleng, Wokha, and Zunheboto districts for six months.
