The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a 4.8 magnitude earthquake, at a distance of 754 kilometres northwest of Tahuna City, Sangihe Islands Regency in North Sulawesi province of Indonesia on Monday (02 March).

The earthquake was reported at approximately 1713 hours (local time) at a depth of 64 kilometres.
