The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) recorded a 4.2 magnitude earthquake in the Southern Chiba Prefecture at approximately 1724 hours (local time) on Thursday (19 February).

• The earthquake was recorded at a depth of 30 kilometres.
• It is indicated the seismic intensity-2 was recorded in parts of the Chiba Prefecture including Mihama Ward, Kisarazu City, Katsuura City, Kimitsu City, Isumi City, and Otaki Town.
• Seismic intensity-1 was observed in rest of the Chiba Prefecture; as well as Midori in Saitama; all parts of Tokyo Metropolis; and parts of Kanagawa Prefecture.
