The Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) reported a 3.4 magnitude earthquake, 105 kilometres southwest of Sumur Bandung (Tangerang Regency) in Banten region at approximately 1531 hours (local time) on Saturday (17 January).

The earthquake was reported at a depth of 23 kilometres with no major seismic intensity observed near the areas around the epicenter.
