As per the National Center for Seismology (NCS), a 2.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Delhi at 0844 hours (local time) on Monday (19 January). The epicenter of the earthquake was in North Delhi, which took place at a depth of 05 kilometers (km).
No injuries or structural damage have been reported. Despite the low magnitude, the tremors were reportedly felt as the quake originated at a shallow depth of 05 km, which allowed the seismic energy to reach the surface with more intensity.
