Description:
As per reports, De Lijn announced that bus and tram services across parts of Belgium are expected to experience disruptions due to a national demonstration scheduled on Thursday (12 March).
• Public transport services across the Flemish Region and Brussels Capital Region are expected to operate at reduced capacity during the demonstration period.
• Approximately 40 percent of bus and tram journeys operated by De Lijn are expected not to operate as part of the adjusted service schedule.
• Transport authorities indicated that an alternative operational schedule has been prepared to maintain approximately 60 percent of regular services across the network.
• Areas expected to experience more noticeable service disruption include Flemish Brabant, Limburg, and the Brussels Capital Region, where fewer than six out of ten services may operate.
• In West Flanders, more than two thirds of scheduled bus and tram services are expected to operate during the disruption period.
• The East Flanders region is expected to maintain more than three quarters of its planned public transport services.
