Description:
As per reports, multiple forest fire and gale warnings issued by the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (met.no) remain in effect across parts of Norway as of Wednesday (05 August).
• In parts of Agder and Telemark, an active orange-level danger warning for high forest fire risk remains in effect.
• In Eastern Norway and parts of Agder, a yellow-level danger warning for local forest fire risk remains active.
• In the Slettnes lighthouse, Vardø coastal stretch, a yellow-level gale warning remains active until 2100 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) on Wednesday (05 August) due to westerly stiff gales reaching 15 metres per second and rough seas.
• In the Fruholmen, Slettnes lighthouse coastal stretch, a yellow-level gale warning remains active until 1500 hours local time (1300 hours UTC) on Wednesday (05 August) due to northwesterly stiff gales reaching 15 metres per second and rough seas.
• In the Nordbanken sea area, a yellow-level gale warning remains active until 1300 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) on Wednesday (05 August) due to northwest strong gales reaching 20 metres per second and breaking medium waves.
Background:
Yellow hazard warnings are issued when minor consequences are expected. This is used for a moderately dangerous situation, which could cause local damage.
An orange hazard warning is issued when the consequences will be extensive for many people.
