Description:
As per reports, the 34th annual Kirchberg Flower Parade is scheduled to take place in Kirchberg in Tirol, Tyrol, on Saturday (15 August), attracting thousands of visitors to the town centre.
• The programme is scheduled to begin with a morning gathering from 1000 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) to 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC), followed by the flower parade from 1515 hours local time (1315 hours UTC) and a summer night festival from 1700 hours local time (1500 hours UTC).
• More than 25 decorated floats and vintage cars featuring over 500,000 flowers are expected to parade through the town.
• An all-day children’s programme and other entertainment activities are also scheduled.
Impact:
• Increased pedestrian and vehicular congestion is expected in and around central Kirchberg in Tirol during the parade and evening festival.
• Temporary road closures or access restrictions may affect motorists and local transport services along the parade route.
• Participation by trade unions, student organisations and political groups may increase the size of the gathering and could result in the mobilisation extending beyond its planned duration.
